Altadena Umoja Recovery Fund
The Altadena Umoja Recovery Fund is a one-time financial relief initiative providing direct assistance to survivors of the Eaton Canyon Fire, with a focus on Black residents who have been disproportionately affected. In partnership with the two largest Black law firms in California, The Cochran Firm and Ivie McNeil Wyatt Purcell & Diggs, The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons State of California Inc., and Jasmyne Cannick--the Altadena Umoja Recovery Fund is rooted in the principle of Umoja—which is Swahili for unity. This fund ensures that those most impacted receive immediate financial support to help with displacement, loss, and unexpected expenses.
This relief is made possible entirely through donations from the community, allies, and organizations committed to justice and recovery. Donations given go directly to those in need, offering a small but meaningful step toward stability and healing.

Altadena Strong. Umoja Always.
FOUNDERS
The Altadena Umoja Recovery Fund was founded by a dedicated group of community leaders, activists, and advocates committed to ensuring that Black survivors of the Eaton Canyon Fire receive the support they need. With deep ties to Altadena and a shared passion for justice, equity, and community resilience, the founders came together to create a direct, little-red-tape relief effort that prioritizes those often left behind in disaster recovery.

Through grassroots efforts and generous donations, the founders aim to provide immediate financial relief to those impacted, proving that in times of crisis, we take care of our own.
